Quick Facts:
On 6th of November Macedonian .NET User Group, under the hat of INETA and Microsoft organized Code Camp 2010 event in Skopje, Macedonia.
With more than 500 attendees, we broke a record for community event in Macedonia and maybe in the Region. After our
first announcement in our newsletter, we were surprised to see 200 registrations on the first day. At the end, on 5th of November we reached an astonishing number of 690 registered attendees.
Next day, we were expecting a crowd in the University lobby. It was wonderful feeling to be on the opening Key Note where whole room was full of people that want to be a part of an community event, where knowledge sharing goes together with fun and friendship. Everyone that could not reach us on-site at the Venue was able to follow the sessions live, trough Microsoft Live Meeting streaming where more than 200 Live Meeting
attending sessions were accomplished in 10 hours of presentations during that day.
We were also live on the Social Networks like Twitter where each sessions start was announced, joined on their mobile devices on the open WiFi Network, they actively participate in the online conversations, commenting about
sessions,
speakers and the event.
Code Camp 2010 settled 10 speakers, in two tracks,
Yellow and
Red. The topics were more than attractive for all the attendees.
Judging by the feedback from the more than interested community, this was one of the best community events in Macedonia, with some attendees even commenting that it had the best content that a community event in Macedonia has ever seen! We’ve really proud that the community recognized our effort and responded in such great number of attendees - having some more than 500 was really impressing!
Organizing the event this year was made easier by having great support from our
contributors - companies and associations such as Microsoft, INETA, Telerik, FON, RedGate, Pluralsight, JetBrains, CodeSmithTools, ORelly and ComponentOne which had donated both the funds to organize the event and rich prizes in the form of software licenses – note that during the sessions and at the ending of the event we’ve organized a rich raffle game in which we gave away some 70 product licenses, books and swag to the lucky attendees.
Great thanks to all the efforts that Code Camp 2010 organization team, speakers and all supporters did for this event to succeed.
It was great experience for each of us, and we are looking forward to see you next year at the Code Camp 2011!
